PLEASE NOTE: I work at University of Northampton (UK) I play a vital role in making sure that assessments are fair, accessible and responsive to the diverse needs of all students, including those who are neurodivergent. My experience in examination processes is to understand the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals, and I am able to create effective support systems. I will be meeting professional obligations but also fulfilling my passion for inclusivity by offering essay planning and exam revision support specifically for neurodivergent students. My current role supports this initiative: Understanding Assessment Standards: Possessing the knowledge of assessment criteria enables me to create resources that fulfil academic expectations and are sensitive to the needs of neurodivergent learners. Creating Customised Materials: I can create essay planning materials and revision methods that are tailored to different learning preferences, enabling neurodivergent students to engage with the content in the way that best suits their needs. Advocacy for Accessibility: My role provides a platform to champion accommodations and adjustments in assessment practices, helping to ensure neurodivergent students have equal opportunities to show what they know and can do. Partnering with Educators: This role involves collaborating with lecturers and support staff to develop and implement strategies that improve the educational experience of neurodivergent students and promote an inclusive school environment. Feedback and Improvement: My role provides opportunities to receive feedback on the effectiveness of the resources that I create, enabling me to continuously improve and adapt to better serve neurodivergent learners. Combining my professional expertise with my commitment to supporting neurodivergent students can help in creating a meaningful impact on their academic success and life experience.
