Hello! I'm Alejandro, a professional film composer and music teacher.
My film scoring lessons are practical and personalized. Rather than only studying theory, we can work directly with scenes, analyze what the story needs, and explore how music can support emotion, characters, pacing, and narrative.
Depending on your goals, we can work on:
- Film scoring and composition
- Scoring scenes and analyzing film music
- Developing themes and musical ideas
- Orchestration and virtual instruments
- Logic Pro, MIDI, automation, samples, and scoring workflow
- Harmony, theory, and composition techniques

I have worked as a composer on 30+ international film and media projects, and my work on Time Rewind received Best Original Score and Best Soundtrack awards in 2025. I bring that real-world experience into the lessons.
You can book a single session for a specific topic or question, or we can work together over several lessons as an ongoing one-on-one film scoring mentorship.
Lessons are available in English or Spanish.

I'm a film composer based in Mexico City, creating original music for films, documentaries, and television. I've worked on 30+ international projects across the US, UK, Australia, and Mexico. Recent credits include Time Rewind, Beau Ideal, and Stitch. My score for Time Rewind won Best Original Score and Best Soundtrack awards in 2025. My work is story-driven, ranging from intimate piano and atmospheric textures to orchestral and hybrid scores. FAQ
Do I need previous film scoring experience?
No. Lessons are adapted to your level, whether you’re just starting out or already composing and want to improve specific areas of your film scoring.
Can we work on actual scenes during the lesson?
Yes. We can analyze scenes together, discuss what the story needs, and work on scoring them directly during the lesson.
Do I need to use Logic Pro?
No, but I use Logic Pro in many of my lessons, especially when working on scoring, MIDI, orchestration, automation, and workflow. Many of the concepts can also be applied to other DAWs.
Can you give me feedback on my own music or film cues?
Yes. You can bring your own compositions, cues, scenes, or projects and we can review them together and work on ways to improve them.
Can we work together as an ongoing mentorship?
Absolutely. If you want to develop your film scoring skills over time, we can work together regularly on composition, scenes, orchestration, workflow, portfolio pieces, and your specific goals.
