What should I expect the finished product to be?
Each package includes one complete, professionally developed visual novel, including the source code and distributions to upload to the marketplace of your choice. A visual novel (VN) is a form of digital interactive fiction primarily relying on text with static or animated illustrations.
What do I need to provide to get started?
At a minimum, I'll need a story outline or script. If you already have art assets, music, sound effects, or graphics you'd like me to use, include them in the request. If you don't have assets to use, I'll use some pre-made or generated assets that fit the characters and tone of the story.
Can you create custom art and music?
I can do a bit of graphic design, but I'm no artist. However, there are tons of free and paid pre-made assets out there on sites like itch.io, GameDev Market, etc. Or if you're looking for something more custom, you can commission art and music from talented folks offering their services.
On which platforms can the visual novel be played?
You'll be able to play the finished product on Windows, Linux, and Mac. Mobile adaptation can be done upon request. If you need it to be compatible with a specific platform, please specify when ordering.
Can my visual novel have branching storylines and multiple endings?
Yes, branching storylines and multiple endings are included with Standard and Premium. If you're looking for a significant number of choices and lots of branching paths, including a flow chart could help.
What steps are involved in the creation process?
First, we'll do a consultation to make sure I have everything I need to get started. Then, I'll turn your script - your story - into code. Finally, I'll test everything thoroughly and make any revisions. We'll stay in touch to ensure the project meets your expectations.
What if I need the project done faster?
Rush delivery may be available for an additional fee, depending on the project scope and my current workload. Contact me before ordering to discuss your timeline needs.
Do you offer support after the project is completed?
Yes, I offer limited post-delivery support for minor issues or questions. For ongoing support or major changes, additional charges may apply.
Who owns the rights to the finished product?
You do! You can do whatever you want with the finished game, including selling it commercially. I'll provide you the source code so you can own it and make any changes you want. Credit is appreciated, but not required.
Which game engine will you use to make the visual novel?
Unless requested otherwise, I will use Ren'Py as the game engine. It's the industry standard game engine for visual novels.
