I'm April Yates, published author of gothic and horror fiction (novellas, Ashthorne, City of Snares), various short stories and co-editor of Scissor Sisters, Bram Stoker Award ballot 2024.
I work with writers of gothic, horror, queer, and dark speculative fiction as a beta reader and developmental editor. I bring a writer's instinct, deep knowledge of queer history and historical fiction, and a genuine investment in helping manuscripts become what they're trying to be.
