A query that takes nine seconds usually does not need a bigger server. It needs a different plan.
I read the EXPLAIN ANALYZE output, find what is actually costing the time - a missing index, a bad join order, a function wrapping an indexed column, a subquery that should be a join - and fix the cause.
In my day job, redesigning a reporting schema cut query execution time by around 45 percent. On another system, warehouse and query optimisation saved about 20 percent of cost.
What you get:
- Before and after timings, measured, not estimated
- The rewritten query and any index changes as runnable SQL
- A short written explanation of what was wrong and why the fix works
