I provided partial Chinese (Traditional) localization for the Cryptomator Android app user interface. Cryptomator is a popular open-source client-side encryption tool for cloud storage, trusted by millions of privacy-conscious users worldwide. Key Responsibilities & Achievements: Culturally translated the Android app’s UI strings, menus, notifications, and in-app messages using Crowdin. Handled highly technical terminology in cryptography, security, cloud synchronization, and data privacy, ensuring accuracy while maintaining natural, user-friendly Chinese that aligns with Android design guidelines. Improved the overall user experience for Chinese-speaking users by refining tone, consistency, and readability across different screen sizes and Android versions. Collaborated remotely with the international development team to resolve context-specific issues and implement localization best practices. Contributed to making a leading privacy tool more accessible in the Chinese market, directly supporting Cryptomator’s global open-source mission. This project strengthened my expertise in software localization, mobile UI/UX translation, and technical translation in the cybersecurity and SaaS domain — skills I now bring to every translation and transcreation project on Fiverr.
