Sharetribe expert for Dessert It, a Canadian multi-vendor marketplace connecting local bakers, home bakers and dessert businesses with dessert lovers - vendors list baked goods, customers make offers, and the vendor accepts or counters to sell. Hired to take over a live but unfinished Sharetribe site still running default demo content, and deliver a branded, payment-ready MVP. What I delivered: transaction process restructured to Sharetribe's built-in negotiation flow - customers send offers, vendors accept, decline or counter - giving the client the "customers bid, vendor picks the winner" behaviour she wanted without expensive custom auction code; Stripe payment integration with the full flow tested end to end (listing, offer, counter, accept, payment); Mapbox connected for location fields; a complete aesthetics rebuild of every page - homepage hero, value-proposition sections, baker onboarding content, About page with founder story, mission sections, footer, brand colours and typography - replacing all placeholder content, demo listings and default Sharetribe text; domain investigation and connection work with the client's registrar; and a full handover package: written documentation plus a recorded video walkthrough covering Console, the negotiation setup and day-to-day management, so the founder runs the platform confidently herself after launch. How I worked: honest scoping from the first message - I declined an unrealistic two-day deadline and quoted a realistic plan instead; milestone-based delivery; the client's bigger auction vision parked as phase 2 by mutual agreement so the business could launch and earn first; updates and explanations at every step, never a black box. Sharetribe marketplace developer for QIRRA, a German-language rental marketplace where people rent out everyday items - tools, machines and equipment, trailers, event gear, sport and hobby items - by the hour or day. What I delivered: a complete multi-category Sharetribe rental build with a category-filtered marketplace grid (auto & motorrad, elektronik & technik, werkstatt & werkzeug, maschinen & geräte, haus & garten, mode & beauty, sport, events, familie & kind); keyword search with a live results map showing price markers; a provider listing-creation flow with images, location and hourly or daily pricing; a provider and renter dashboard area (my listings, my bookings, favourites); search filters by listing type, category, keywords and location, with newest-first sorting; promotional banner slots for featured offers; listing detail pages with booking requests; and full German-language copy and branding - logo, colour system, typography - across desktop and mobile. Outcome: a live marketplace where providers self-serve their rental listings and renters discover, compare and book nearby, with map-based search as the core discovery experience. Delivered and supported in German for a German-speaking client team.
