À propos de moi
Hi there! I'm a freelance editor and proofreader, with substantial experience in academic writing and online copy. I have a PhD in English from the University of Leeds, and I've worked as a tutor and writing mentor for university-level students. My goal is to keep your voice front and centre of your writing. I'll be technically rigourous (there'll be no stray apostrophes or sentence fragments on my watch), but I'll make sure to keep your style consistent. I am happy to be flexible with my packages - writing and editing is not an exact science. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!... Plus d’infos

Four and a half years of project management. Wrote and defended an 80,000-word, 200-page thesis on US novelists and the 2008 financial crisis. Won competitive funding, presented at global conferences, published original research, and taught students. • Won £50,000 of competitive research funding for the project from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). Created the PhD project from scratch and wrote the application to non-specialist assessors for funding. They liked what they read. • Secured £6,000 competitive funding from the AHRC for an archive research trip to the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas from January – March 2020. Again, wrote for non-specialists. Awarded highest score of ‘6’ in each assessed category. • Co-edited a special edition of Post45, focusing on the SFF game Disco Elysium. Pitched the idea to the journal, actioned a call for participants, wrote my own piece, and developed and line edited collaborator pieces. • Published original research in the academic journals Textual Practice and Humanities. Went through a rigorous peer review process and was commended for its quality, originality and style. Over 8000 downloads and reads. • Delivered a keynote lecture at the University of Muenster. Also presented at conferences in Austin, Belfast, and London. • Taught undergraduate students across all levels on the modules ‘American Words, American Worlds: 1900 – Present’, ‘Bowie, Reading, Writing’, and ‘Foundations of English Studies’. Led seminar classes of 12. Marked work. Received excellent feedback.
