● Supported Quantity Surveyors across the Engineering & Major Projects and Property Strategy & Development functions, gaining exposure to a wide range of QS duties on live construction projects. ● Measured the substructure for the Portlaoise NTC project directly from construction drawings, developing strong drawing-interpretation and attention-to-detail skills. ● Prepared a stair finishes package by applying ARM5 measurement rules to ensure quantities were calculated correctly and consistently. ● Transferred rates from PDF bills of quantities into Excel, building a solid understanding of how project costs are structured. ● Assisted with cost reporting, reviewing subcontractor accounts and supporting the management of project variations, including a full count of internal lighting to assess a project variation. ● Carried out a mock valuation of an entire project, attending site to assess progress against the bill and supporting findings with photographic evidence and applying it to a measurement software known as Cubit. ● Assisted in maintaining a contractors' rates framework, benchmarking contractor performance to support commercial decision-making. ● Identified a discrepancy during a remeasurement exercise which, following investigation, resulted in a cost saving for the project.
