I have experience developing and maintaining GIS-based distribution utility maps using QGIS. My work focuses on mapping and organizing electrical distribution infrastructure into a structured geographic data system that can support utility planning, network expansion, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects. Key responsibilities and experience include: • Developed GIS-based system maps showing the distribution utility's coverage and service areas. • Created and maintained GIS layers for 13.2 kV distribution power lines, distribution transformers, poles, and other electrical infrastructure. • Organized electrical distribution assets into structured GIS datasets for planning, expansion, and infrastructure development. • Used geographic and utility data to support the identification and planning of proposed distribution system expansion and CAPEX projects. • Prepared and managed GIS data that can be integrated into power system analysis and network simulation workflows. • Converted and prepared QGIS-based distribution network data for use in Synergi for electrical distribution system simulation and analysis. • Reviewed and validated network data to improve the accuracy and consistency of mapped electrical assets. • Worked with engineering and geographic information to support distribution system planning, load analysis, network development, and project evaluation. This experience combines GIS, electrical engineering, and utility network modeling, with a focus on creating practical geospatial data that can be used not only for visualization but also for engineering analysis and decision-making.
