Worked on FortekStore.com, a fully functional Odoo e-commerce website, to implement PayFast payment gateway integration and enhance the online shopping experience. The project involved customizing Odoo’s e-commerce and payment modules to seamlessly handle South African PayFast payments, ensuring secure transactions, automated order processing, and real-time payment verification. Key responsibilities and achievements include: Integrated PayFast payment module into the existing Odoo website, handling all transaction types including credit card, EFT, and instant EFT payments. Customized Odoo e-commerce checkout to support multiple payment methods, including PayFast, without disrupting existing workflows. Developed automated order confirmation, invoice generation, and email notifications upon successful payment. Implemented error handling and fallback mechanisms to ensure smooth transactions even during gateway downtime. Tested end-to-end payment flows in sandbox and production environments to ensure secure and accurate payment processing. Optimized backend to automatically update order status, inventory, and accounting entries upon payment confirmation. Provided training and documentation for the client to manage PayFast settings and reconcile payments efficiently.
