As a Software Engineer at Ramani Geosystems, I contributed to projects that integrate geospatial data with software development, optimizing system functionality and enhancing user experience. My key responsibilities include: • Development of County Land Information Management Systems (LIMS): Implementation of LIMS for Murang’a, Kajiado, and additional counties as required, ensuring the system meets each county’s unique specifications for efficient land data management. • RamaniMaps SDK: Took part in the development of a geospatial SDK for mapping, spatial analysis, and visualization. ABOUT ME WORK EXPERIENCE • Machine Learning for Aerial Imagery Analysis: Built and trained machine learning and deep learning models, including a model for detection and classification of sugarcane from aerial imagery, improving the accuracy of agricultural and land-use mapping. • LiDAR Data Visualization Software: Developed Ramani LiDAR Viewer, a software tool for visualization and analysis of LiDAR point-cloud data. • Remote Sensing Workflows: Built remote sensing modules within Ramani Maps, including an NDVI analysis module and a time-series timeline editor using Planet, Sentinel, and other satellite imagery products. • Additional Responsibilities: Contributed to the development of a Flight Rally (NAVEX) scoring system for evaluating and ranking pilots during the annual navigation exercise. Also supporting various geospatial projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to fulfill other software development tasks as assigned.
