What exactly is an MCP server?
MCP is the standard that lets Claude use your tools instead of just talking about them. Right now you paste data into chat and copy answers back. With an MCP server, Claude queries your database, calls your API and updates your records directly - inside the same conversation.
Do you need access to our production data?
No. I build against your API docs, a schema dump, or a sandbox with dummy data. The server runs on your machine or your server with your credentials - I never hold them. If you want me to test against a live system, that is your call, not a requirement.
Which AI clients does this work with?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and anything else that speaks MCP. You get a ready config file for each one - paste it in, restart, and your tools appear. MCP is an open standard, so it is not locked to one vendor.
Are there ongoing costs after delivery?
For a local server, none. You already pay for Claude and your own APIs; the server itself costs nothing to run. If you take the hosted deploy in Business or Enterprise, that is a small server bill in your own account, usually a few dollars a month. You pay providers directly, never me.
Can my team extend it after you deliver?
Yes, that is the point. You get clean Python or TypeScript with a README showing how each tool is built, so adding tool number five is a copy-paste job for any developer on your team. You own the code and I do not gate it behind a retainer.
What if our API has no documentation?
Very common. Send me a few example requests and responses, a Postman collection, or read access to a staging endpoint and I will map it myself. If nothing exists at all, tell me before you order and I will say honestly whether it is doable in the timeline.
