I design and run the infrastructure behind e-commerce applications and internal platforms, having moved into architecture from a DevOps role. Day to day: Architecture and design review for backend services and integrations Production operations: incident response, root-cause analysis, performance and cost optimisation Platform work: standardising deployment across teams running Kubernetes, Docker Compose and plain VMs CI/CD with GitLab CI, Jenkins and ArgoCD; infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK and Loki Most of the work is the unglamorous half: why a deployment failed, why a service is slow, and how to make the fix survive the next release.
