What data do I need to provide for flood risk mapping?
Ideally share your study area boundary (shapefile or coordinates) and any existing DEM data you have. If you do not have DEM data, I can source SRTM or Copernicus DEM for your area at no extra cost. The more context you share about the project purpose, the better I can tailor the output.
What software do you use and will I receive editable files?
I work with ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and Google Earth Engine depending on the analysis type. Standard delivery includes high-resolution map outputs in PDF and PNG. Editable shapefiles, GeoTIFFs, and project files are available as a gig extra.
Can you work with my own DEM or survey data?
Yes. I regularly work with client-provided datasets including LiDAR point clouds, custom DEMs, and GPS survey data. Share your data format when you message me and I will confirm compatibility before you order.
How accurate will the flood risk map be?
Accuracy depends on the resolution of the input DEM. SRTM 30m data is suitable for regional-level assessment. For detailed local analysis, higher resolution data like LiDAR or Copernicus 10m DEM produces significantly more precise results.
Can this output be used in a research paper or official report?
Yes. My outputs are cartographically formatted with proper legends, scale bars, north arrows, coordinate systems, and data source citations - meeting the standards required for journal submissions and institutional reports.
