Joining Ibex Company was a turning point for me. When I first started, I knew how to use the tools, but Ibex taught me how to actually think like an editor. It wasn’t just about putting clips together; it was about finding the rhythm and the "soul" of every project I touched. What I’m taking away from this experience: The Art of the Story: I realized that a good edit is invisible. I learned how to pace a video so that the viewer stays hooked from the first second to the last. My technical skills in Premiere Pro and After Effects leveled up massively. I went from "guessing" my way through color grading and motion graphics to knowing exactly how to achieve a cinematic look. The "Pressure" Factor: Working in a professional environment taught me how to keep my cool during tight deadlines. I learned that being fast is good, but being accurate and fast is what makes a professional. Sound is 50% of the Video: I used to focus only on the visuals, but at Ibex, I learned how much a perfect sound effect or a well-timed music swell can change the entire mood of a scene. Collaboration: I spent a lot of time brainstorming with the creative team. Learning to take feedback and turn it into a better version of my work was probably the biggest lesson of all. I’m leaving Ibex with a lot more than just a portfolio; I’m leaving with a professional mindset and a genuine passion for visual storytelling.
