Hi, I’m Jay, a professional British cellist with over 25 years of experience performing, recording, and arranging music. I’ve built a career working across live performance, studio recording, and creative collaborations. My work has been featured on BBC TV and Radio, Netflix (including Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte), ITV, and Global Radio, and I’ve performed for projects connected with Olympic Team GB and HRH Princess Anne. As a performer I’ve also worked with artists and productions including Alicia Keys, Amanda Holden, Joan Armatrading, and Akram Khan Company dancer Akash Odedra, and have toured with several professional orchestras across the UK. I specialise in creating warm, expressive cello recordings that add depth, emotion, and character to a piece of music. Whether you’re a producer looking for real strings, a songwriter developing a track, or a composer working on film, cinematic, or ambient music, I can provide beautifully performed cello parts tailored to your project. Alongside reading sheet music, I’m very comfortable improvising and creating parts by ear. Many clients send a guide track, sound clip, or rough idea, and I can quickly develop expressive cello lines that fit the mood and style of the piece. I’m experienced in building layered cello parts and recording clean stems ready to drop straight into your project.
