Manuscript Critique & Marginal Feedback

This is where we get into the bulk of your story. You will receive a Manuscript Critique (average 7 to 10-page letter), along with marginal feedback. I will discuss the readability of your book when referring to the following craft elements:

• Hook/Opening
• Character Development
• Themes and Subtext
• Plot and Subplot
• Pacing and Momentum
• Tone, Voice, and Word Choice
• Structure and Form
• Exposition
• Scene
• Setting and World-building
• Reader Expectation/Marketability
• 
  

I will also answer questions such as:

Would I recommend this book?
Which characters did I connect with, and why?
Did I find the storyline believable (even if this is Sci-Fi or Fantasy)?
Was the tense and POV the best choice for the story and the writing style?
Was there any part of the writing that I skimmed? Why?
Were all issues (especially subplots/secondary storylines) resolved?

Before I start a project, I welcome and recommend that you let me know of anything specific that you would like me to focus on. I will make sure to address those concerns first.

2 Passes - I will read it once while taking notes. The 2nd time around, I will add marginal notes.
