I didn’t start out thinking I would become a VFX artist. I was just someone who loved movies and wondered how impossible scenes were created. When I was a teenager, I started experimenting with simple video edits on my computer. At first it was just curiosity—I tried adding small effects to videos I filmed with friends and followed tutorials online to learn the basics. Over time, that curiosity turned into a real interest. I began learning software used in visual effects, such as compositing and basic 3D tools. Most of my learning came from practice: recreating scenes, testing simulations, and slowly understanding how different parts of the VFX pipeline worked. My first real step into the industry was an internship at a small post-production studio. The work was very detail-oriented—things like rotoscoping, clean-ups, and tracking footage. It wasn’t the most glamorous side of visual effects, but it taught me how professional projects are organized and how important precision and teamwork are in a VFX pipeline. After that experience, I built my first demo reel from personal projects and the work I was allowed to show. Eventually, I was able to join a small studio as a Junior VFX Artist, where I supported senior artists on commercial and digital content. My role involved tasks like compositing simple shots, preparing elements, rotoscoping, and helping finalize scenes. I still see myself as being at the beginning of my career, but every project helps me improve my skills and understand the craft more deeply. My goal is to keep learning, take on more complex shots, and gradually grow into a full VFX artist who can contribute to larger and more creative projects.
