Mr. S. M. Kaleem Makki was born and raised in Karachi and is a permanent citizen of Pakistan. He is married and currently over 67 years old. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Karachi, obtained in 1982. He also completed his Bachelor of Business Administration from the same institution. His earlier academic qualifications include Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Karachi, Intermediate in Science from the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Karachi; Matriculation in Science from the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi; After completing his MBA, he joined Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as Product Manager. He later moved to AlFuttaim Watches in the United Arab Emirates, where he served as Product Officer for Seiko watches, clocks, and Lorus clocks. Following the passing of his father in 1987, he returned to Pakistan and joined Allied Cosmetics & Chemicals Co. (Pvt.) Ltd. as Marketing & Sales Manager, where he handled Max Factor and Coty products. He subsequently established his own business in the manufacturing and export of leather garments, leather handbags, and other leather products, including fur and leather scrap. During this period, he traveled extensively to meet international customers and attended numerous leather-related and general international fairs and exhibitions. His export markets included the Far East, the USA, Europe, Australia, and other parts of Asia. Later, he entered Sindh Provincial Government service and was appointed as Project Director, Quality Control & Marketing Centre, Hyderabad, under the Sindh Small Industries Corporation, Government of Sindh. His responsibilities included developing quality standards for handicrafts to meet the requirements of international buyers. He was later transferred to the Directorate of Export, Sindh Small Industries Corporation, as Director, where he promoted, marketed, and exported handicrafts of Pakistan,
