At Peel Entertainment, I handled legal matters arising from the creation, financing, production, and commercial exploitation of entertainment projects. My role required understanding both the creative objectives of each production and the legal rights necessary to bring those projects successfully to audiences. I worked with producers, performers, writers, musicians, production personnel, venues, and commercial partners on issues affecting their participation in entertainment ventures. I advised on compensation, creative contributions, performance rights, credits, exclusivity, revenue participation, and the permitted use of recorded or commissioned material. Rights clearance formed an important part of my practice. I examined ownership and permissions involving scripts, music, photographs, footage, artwork, trademarks, performances, and promotional materials. Where third party content was required, I ensured that appropriate licenses, releases, assignments, or consents supported the intended use. I also addressed the commercial side of productions, including sponsorship arrangements, event engagements, distribution opportunities, merchandising, advertising collaborations, and digital exploitation. When contractual disagreements, ownership concerns, payment issues, or unauthorized content use occurred, I evaluated the underlying rights and determined appropriate legal remedies. My involvement helped Peel Entertainment secure creative rights, improve contractual protections for productions, prevent clearance related complications, preserve valuable intellectual property, and negotiate commercially favorable arrangements while supporting the successful development and exploitation of entertainment projects.
