As a CAD Design Engineer, I specialized in designing production-ready ceramic slip casting molds and precision mechanical components for manufacturing. My responsibilities included transforming client concepts, sketches, and reference images into accurate 3D CAD models optimized for real-world production. I designed plaster molds for ceramic mugs, cups, bowls, plates, vases, planters, tableware, and home décor products, ensuring proper parting lines, mold separation, draft angles, wall thickness, and overall manufacturability. I collaborated with product development teams and manufacturers to refine product designs, improve casting performance, and reduce production issues before manufacturing. By applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, I helped minimize material waste, reduce mold revisions, improve production efficiency, and achieve consistent casting results. In addition to ceramic mold design, I created custom mechanical keyboard keycaps, consumer product components, prototypes, and other precision CAD models suitable for CNC machining, 3D printing, and mold production. I prepared complete engineering documentation, assembly drawings, exploded views, manufacturing specifications, and production-ready CAD files to ensure seamless communication between designers and manufacturers. I primarily used SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor and KeyShot to create highly detailed 3D models, technical drawings, photorealistic renders, and manufacturing files in formats such as STEP, STL, IGES, SLDPRT, DWG, DXF, and PDF. My work contributed to improving product quality, accelerating product development, reducing design iterations, and delivering reliable, manufacturing-ready solutions that met both functional and aesthetic requirements. I maintained clear communication throughout every project, ensuring clients received accurate, well-documented designs delivered on time while meeting industry standards for precision, durability, and manufacturability.
