Person Incharge for the Malaysia accounting and reporting function for a trading entity, responsible for financial reporting, controls, and coordination with Head Office. Job Scope ~Lead end-to-end monthly financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and submission to HQ. ~Oversee full set of accounts including consolidation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HQ reporting requirements. ~Supervise AR and AP functions, including aging review, collections monitoring, and payment control. ~Review and validate accounting entries to ensure proper classification and adherence to accounting standards. ~Drive month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial close within reporting deadlines. ~Act as key liaison between Malaysia entity, HQ, auditors, tax agents, and external stakeholders. ~Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS), internal controls, and audit requirements. ~Support financial transparency through structured reporting and analytical review of variances. Key Achievements ~Successfully established and stabilized the Malaysia finance reporting function as sole PIC. ~Delivered consistent and timely monthly reporting to HQ with improved accuracy and reporting discipline. ~Strengthened AR/AP monitoring framework, improving control over outstanding balances and cash flow visibility. ~Enhanced accounting data integrity through structured review process and reduced entry discrepancies. ~Ensured smooth audit coordination with well-prepared schedules and minimal audit adjustments. ~Improved month-end closing efficiency and reporting consistency within a short operational transition period.
