From July 2024 to November 2025, I successfully managed a comprehensive Xero setup, cleanup and bank reconciliation project for a growing small business, handling over 500 financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency. The project began with a complete Xero setup, including creating a structured and industry appropriate Chart of Accounts, configuring tax settings, establishing bank feeds and customizing reporting categories to match the client’s operational needs. I ensured the system was aligned with accounting best practices and ready for scalable growth. During the cleanup phase, I carefully reviewed historical transactions, corrected misclassifications, resolved duplicate entries, and identified missing records. I reorganized expense categories, matched invoices and bills correctly, and ensured accounts receivable and payable balances were accurate. Special attention was given to maintaining compliance and ensuring financial statements reflected the true financial position of the business. For the bank reconciliation process, I reconciled multiple months of bank and credit card statements, matching over 500 transactions against Xero records. I identified discrepancies, corrected posting errors, and cleared outstanding balances. Each reconciliation was completed with detailed documentation to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
