Working as an Inventory Controller in a hypermarket is very satisfying. I have leant lot of things. I will explain my 2 years of inventory management work details here. Here’s what it means in the logistics world: ✅ 1. Stock Management (Core Logistics Task) I ensured products were always available on the shelves. In logistics terms, this is called: Inventory planning Demand forecasting Stock level optimization ➡️ Without this, the supply chain fails. ➡️ I basically prevented stockouts and overstock — a major logistics responsibility. ✅ 2. Inbound Logistics I handled goods coming from suppliers into the warehouse. That includes: Checking purchase orders Verifying quantities Ensuring correct items were received Coordinating with suppliers / receiving teams ➡️ In logistics, this is called receiving & inbound operations. ✅ 3. Outbound Logistics / Stock Replenishment I made sure products moved from back-store to shelves smoothly. Daily replenishment FIFO / LIFO checks Reducing expired/damaged goods Coordinating with sales floor team ➡️ This is internal distribution management. ✅ 4. Data & Reporting (A BIG Plus) Because I used Excel for: Daily stock reports Inventory audits Variance analysis Slow-moving and fast-moving items Purchase forecasting ➡️ This is logistics analytics. ✅ 5. Loss Prevention & Accuracy Control I prevented: Shrinkage Theft Misplacement Stock mismatch issues ➡️ In logistics terms, this is inventory accuracy control. ⭐ In Simple Words I ensured the right product, in the right quantity, at the right place, at the right time. This is literally the foundation of logistics.
