FAQ
Why does Consent Mode V2 matter for Magento 2?
Magento often runs multiple tracking scripts via extensions and themes. Without Consent Mode V2, Google can no longer collect conversion data from users in the EU who don’t accept cookies. This leads to missing sales and distorted ROAS. Consent Mode V2 solves this by sending anonymous pings and mode
How is GA4 implemented in Magento 2?
I use Google Tag Manager with Magento’s native dataLayer (add_to_cart, begin_checkout, purchase). If your store has a custom checkout or AJAX cart, I’ll adjust the triggering logic and data schema to ensure accurate revenue, tax, and currency tracking in GA4.
Do you configure Server-Side Tracking?
Yes — included in Standard and Premium. I deploy a GTM Server container using Stape.io or your preferred host. This captures Ads and GA4 hits server-to-server, reducing ad blocker impact and speeding up page load. You retain full control over data collection and retention.
Which Consent Management Platform works best with Magento?
I recommend Cookiebot, Iubenda, or OneTrust, all of which provide Magento modules and GTM integration. I’ll configure the dataLayer variables (ad_storage, analytics_storage, etc.) so Google Tags respond immediately to user consent choices.
Does this setup work with multi-store or multi-currency Magento installations?
Yes — I map each store view individually, ensuring transaction currency, language, and dataLayer IDs are correct. This prevents cross-domain or duplicate event issues in GA4 and Ads.
Can you add Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn tracking?
Included in Premium. I implement consent-aware pixels that fire only when ad_storage consent is granted. This maintains compliance without sacrificing retargeting capabilities.
What access do you need?
Access to your Magento admin, Google Tag Manager, GA4, and Google Ads. For server-side, temporary access to your hosting panel or sGTM host is required. All credentials are handled securely and removed post-delivery.
How do you validate the tracking?
I test with real purchases and Tag Assistant to confirm the correct sequence of GA4 and Ads events. Then I compare values to backend orders to ensure currency, tax, and transaction IDs match.
Do you fix existing GA4 implementations or migrate from UA?
Yes. If you already have GA4 running but see data gaps or Consent Mode errors, I’ll audit, repair, and document the configuration. Migration from Universal Analytics can be included in the same gig or as an add-on.
What’s included in the documentation and Loom video?
A complete setup sheet (showing all tags, triggers, variables, and dataLayer mappings) plus a 10-minute Loom explaining how to test events, validate Consent Mode, and read GA4 purchase reports.
