— Contributed as a Process Expert and Process Engineer to specialized technical roundtables and industry analysis initiatives focused on the reactivation, modernization, technological development, and long-term competitiveness of Mexico’s chemical and petrochemical industries. — Participated across the ethane–ethylene, methanol–ammonia, and technology management workstreams, addressing feedstock security, process modernization, energy integration, technology alternatives, industrial competitiveness, sustainability, and the strategic development of national production infrastructure. — Proposed a sugarcane-derived ethanol-to-ethylene pathway (sucrochemical route) as an alternative feedstock strategy for Mexico’s ethylene value chain, including its integration with domestic agroindustrial value chains and the potential use of ethanol as a gasoline oxygenate to reduce dependence on imported petrochemical feedstocks. — Proposed a nuclear-energy integration pathway based on nuclear microreactors for the methanol–ammonia value chains, aimed at addressing natural-gas supply constraints, reducing emissions, strengthening long-term energy resilience, and providing reliable energy for strategic petrochemical production. — Contributed to discussions on technology management, process modernization, alternative process routes, and long-term industrial planning, including the presentation of a National Master Plan framework for Mexico’s chemical, petrochemical, energy, and refining industries. Areas of contribution: Process Engineering · Petrochemical Process Engineering · Process Systems Analysis · Energy Integration · Technology Management · Industrial Strategy · Ethylene · Methanol · Ammonia · Alternative Feedstocks · Nuclear Energy · Industrial Modernization

PEMEX

Process Engineer | Petrochemical Industrial Residency / Project-Based Role

PEMEX • Temps plein

Jan 2024 - Jan 2025 • 1 yr

Petrochemical industrial residency and project-based process engineering focused on distillation, thermal analysis and petrochemical process optimization. Used Aspen HYSYS for distillation-column simulation and evaluation of high-purity isopentane production. Evaluated operating configurations and defined operating windows and KPIs to support process-performance decisions. Applied Aspen EDR to heat-exchanger analysis, operating-profile development and feasibility checks for alternative operating configurations. Work covered technical analysis across multiple petrochemical process units; no confidential process data is disclosed here.
