How can you provide LIVE support?
Sometimes it is easier to just share a screen to better explain the scenario or reproduce a problem. You can share your screen with me and I'll let you drive so what ever we are doing "sinks in". You don't have me touching your environment and you learn more from the session. (Teams, Zoom, WebEx)
What do you mean by "Easy-Button"?
Using TSQL as a script is great for repeating a process. I can supply you with re-runnable, parametrized, bullet-proof scripts you can use for all of your SQL servers/databases to setup SQL Audits or other administrative tasks.
Do you still work for Microsoft?
Retiring after 21 years in Sept 2022 from Microsoft (worked in SQL Server Product Group, Lead DBA for MSN, Software Design Engineer and Field Engineer & MCS Consultant for Federal Services), but continue to pursue my passion writing TSQL code and solving business problems with SQL databases.
What technologies do you work with?
I'm kind of a one-trick pony. I can read and work with a few different languages like PowerShell, C#, Visual Basic, Java, etc, but my true expertise is with Transact SQL (TSQL) on SQL Server. If you need a full stack developer, I'm not your guy! If you need a SQL database solution, look no further!
What versions of SQL Server do you work with?
I have experience with every version of SQL Server going back to SQL Server 6.5 (1996) I work with all on-prem versions of SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008, 2008R2, 2012 ,2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 (and even SQL 2022) Cloud versions: Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Manage Instance. I do not work with Synapse
SQL Server is a large platform, what is your specialty?
ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) and dynamic metadata driven functionality is my expertise. Working for the SQL Server Product Group for SQL Audit (On-prem and Azure) as well as EKM (Extensible Key Management)- a feature that allows you to encrypt an on-prem database (using TDE) with Azure Key Vault.
Do you support other relational database systems?
Unfortunately No. I only work with Microsoft SQL Server. My entire career I've only focused on one product (SQL Server) so I could be the best at that technology. I even worked on building SQL Server Product for Microsoft. If you need Oracle or MySQL, etc, assistance I'm not your guy.
