Which sensor / peripheral libraries do you use?
Whichever is most reliable for your platform. For Arduino I default to Adafruit / Sparkfun libraries; for ESP32 I use Arduino-ESP32 or ESP-IDF; for Raspberry Pi I use gpiozero / RPi.GPIO / picamera2 depending on the task.
