What is the format of output file?
Any vector file you want. Usually I deliver files in following formats: .PDF .AI .SVG .CDR .EPS .PNG .JPG (or any other file format you need).
Is it necessary to know the Font Style used in the file?
It is recommended to mention the Font used in the logo/image (if any) while you are ordering. However, if the font is not known and it too complex to vector trace, I will use similar font.
What are the Benefits of a vector file?
Vector files remain editable, you can open them back and edit any text or other elements but in case of raster file you would not be able to reopen and edit. Benefit of vector art is that it can be scaled to any size, from large billboard to a business card, with no loss of detail or sharpen.
