Laboratory Manager & Compliance Supervisor — Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) I lead inspection and compliance verification for import consignments entering the Somali market, applying EAS/EAC harmonized standards across product categories including food, cosmetics, and general goods. My day-to-day work includes: Inspecting shipments for labeling accuracy, packaging integrity, and product safety compliance before goods are cleared or rejected. Identifying contamination, damage, and non-compliance issues that would otherwise result in costly rejections, fines, or reputational damage for importers Overseeing laboratory QA/QC processes to ensure test results and compliance documentation meet audit-ready standards Serving as the final compliance checkpoint between importers and market clearance — a role that requires both technical chemistry knowledge and regulatory precision Why this matters: I don't just review paperwork — I physically or remotely inspect consignments and understand what regulators are actually checking for, because I am the regulator in my day job.
