I have a Masters in Architecture and after 5 years working in a RIBA Chartered Practice I have set up my own Architectural Design business.
To create your model and CGI renders I need:
- Access to scale plans, ideally in CAD (.dwg) but other formats are acceptable
- Material images or swatches of all materials you would like the building and context to be rendered in - including fences, proposed planting etc.
- Examples of any specific furniture required - benches/tables etc.
- Photographs or address if any existing context is required to be modelled - if photos or views via Google Earth lack detail/are unclear we may need to use clever camera angles and planting to conceal missing detail
I will assign geo-location to ensure that shadows are accurate. Once the model is built I will confirm the camera angle and lighting with a render of the blank model.
Next, I add the textures, context and details. Once this is done I will send you a low-mid resolution version of the render, this is when the amendments can take place; before the final high quality render is completed. Finally, I take the render into Photoshop and finalise it here.

I am the lead designer at Olliver Design Studio; an independent design business.
We work with residential clients to help them to design their dream home and obtain planning permission. We also collaborate with other design professionals to provide architectural drawings and a CGI visualisation service.
Prior to starting to provide my services on a freelance basis I worked as a Part II Architectural Assistant with experience obtained within a relatively small practice, I have worked upon a wide breadth of projects throughout all of the RIBA work stages.

FAQ
What does Stage Set Render mean?
If only one camera angle is required then only what can be seen from that camera angle will be modelled and detailed. This is more effective in terms of time and cost as well as ensuring the model file runs quicker. Additional camera angles cannot be added to this package.
