If there were a way to surpass the talented, it would be through obsession. My current obsession is becoming a good editor. When I don’t know something, I’ll easily spend hours brute-forcing it until I figure it out, then refine it until it’s good enough. I am both self-taught and formally trained. This combination gives me the flexibility and the ‘smooth is fast, fast is smooth’ efficiency to finish my projects. My goal is to make my client’s vision a reality, even when that requires me to overcome my passive nature and push back.
