Bookkeeping that's actually reconciled not just typed in and hoped for.
I'm a UK Chartered Accountant (Chartered Accountants Ireland) with Big Four audit/risk experience at Deloitte. I know what falls apart when a bookkeeper isn't properly qualified and I build every set of books so it survives an accountant or auditor looking at it afterwards.
What I do:
- Monthly or catch-up bookkeeping in QuickBooks, Xero, or Pandle
- Bank reconciliation as standard on every job not an optional extra
- Categorisation and chart of accounts cleanup
- VAT-ready records (VAT return itself available as add-on)
- Clear handover: monthly summary of what changed and any flags
Why this isn't "just data entry": Most bookkeeping goes wrong because transactions get entered independently of the bank statement, so nothing's ever actually checked against reality. I work the other way round the bank statement is the source of entry, and the reconciliation is the control that proves everything's complete. If a number's off, I'll find it before you do.

Bookkeeping keeps your records VAT-ready. The VAT return submission itself is available as an add-on — ask if you need it.
Xero, QuickBooks, or Pandle — does it matter which I use?
No, I work across all three. If you don't have software yet, I'll recommend one based on your business size and set it up.
How is this different from just doing it myself in a spreadsheet?
Reconciliation. A spreadsheet tells you what you think happened; a reconciled set of books proves it against the bank statement. That's the difference an accountant or investor will actually check.
