Do you correct grammar and spelling?
Developmental editing is primarily focused on story development rather than detailed proofreading. Grammar and proofreading can be added as a separate service if required.
What types of books do you edit?
I work with children's books, picture books, novels, short stories, fiction, nonfiction, inspirational books, young adult manuscripts, and ebooks.
Can you edit children's picture books?
Yes. I can provide developmental feedback on children's stories, including story structure, character development, pacing, age appropriateness, conflict, resolution, and overall storytelling.
Will you rewrite my entire book?
No. Developmental editing focuses on providing professional feedback and recommendations. I help you understand what can be improved while preserving your creative voice.
Can you work with an unfinished manuscript?
Yes. I can review unfinished manuscripts and provide guidance on structure, character development, plot direction, pacing, and areas that need further development.
What file format should I send?
You can provide your manuscript in commonly used formats such as Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF.
