Performance of your own website - Optimize loading times
My point of view on how to deal with load time optimization:
Designing your own website is often a double-edged sword. Popular third-party features like embedding Google Maps locations, YouTube videos, chatbots or other useful tools to analyze and run your website have a negative impact on the loading speed of your own website. Here, you need to weigh up which functions are essential and therefore you want to accept the loss of speed.
Another consideration could be to set up certain functions only on special subpages of the website. For example, how about integrating your own location with Google Maps only on the contact subpage instead of directly on the main page?
On my own site, I currently have a chatbot only on the home page. I consciously accept the loss of some performance points in the loading speed and prioritize the function of the chatbot to answer possible questions with a few clicks. If a visitor specifically goes to a subpage, I assume that this visitor already knows exactly where he can find his desired information and navigates back to the home page in case of emergency.
