FAQ
What file formats do you deliver?
I deliver STEP, IGES, STL for 3D printing, and PDF technical drawings. Other formats available on request.
Can you work from a hand sketch or photo?
Yes. I can create accurate 3D CAD models from hand sketches, photos, PDFs, and written descriptions. Providing dimensions, reference measurements, or a known scale object will help ensure the best accuracy.
Do you provide technical drawings with dimensions?
Yes. Standard and Premium packages include detailed technical drawings with dimensions and annotations. Basic package includes a simplified drawing. Drawings are prepared for manufacturing and can be delivered in PDF and other required formats.
What is included in the Basic package?
The Basic package includes one simple mechanical part delivered in STEP and STL formats, with up to 2 revisions. For assemblies, complex components, technical drawings, or custom requirements, please choose the Standard or Premium package.
Can you design assemblies with moving parts?
Yes. I create multi-part assemblies in SolidWorks with proper mates, interference checks, and motion analysis when required. Assembly design is included in the Standard and Premium packages.
Do you offer 3D printing file optimization?
Yes. I can prepare and optimize STL files for FDM 3D printing, including print orientation recommendations to improve print quality and manufacturability. Available as a Gig Extra or upon request.
What information do you need to get started?
Please provide: (1) a description, sketch, or reference image of the part, (2) critical dimensions or overall size, (3) intended manufacturing method (CNC machining, 3D printing, etc.), and (4) required file formats. The more information provided, the faster and more accurate the final result.
