My time as a junior motion designer at Sketch Studio was a defining chapter in my creative career, serving as the crucial bridge between theoretical academic learning and the high-stakes, fast-paced world of commercial production. When I first walked through the glass doors of Sketch Studio—a bustling, mid-sized creative agency known for its vibrant, design-driven approach to visual storytelling—I was armed with a solid portfolio of student work, a mastery of shortcut keys, and a heavy dose of imposter syndrome. What followed was an intense, exhilarating, and deeply educational period where I learned not just how to make things move, but how to make them communicate, resonate, and ultimately, sell. Sketch Studio was a melting pot of disciplines. The open-plan office hummed with the quiet intensity of illustrators, art directors, copywriters, and senior animators, all illuminated by the glow of dual-monitor setups. As a junior, my primary responsibility was to support the senior motion designers and art directors, taking their established style frames and storyboards and breathing life into them. The role demanded a relentless work ethic, a meticulous eye for detail, and a thick skin for feedback. Over the course of my tenure, I had the privilege of working on a vastly diverse array of projects, each requiring a different aesthetic, technical approach, and mindset.
