What is the difference between proofreading and copy editing?
Proofreading is the final check for minor errors before publication. Copy editing improves your writing by correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure while enhancing clarity, readability, and consistency. Nevertheless, your unique voice and style will always be preserved.
Do you edit both English and Dutch texts?
Yes! I offer copy editing for both English and Dutch texts. Please make sure your document is already written in the language you would like me to edit. If you would like me to translate your text (between English and Dutch), please contact me before ordering so we can discuss a custom offer.
Will you rewrite my text?
No, I will not rewrite your text. This is a copyediting service. I will improve grammar, clarity, flow, and consistency while preserving your original meaning and writing style. If substantial rewriting is needed, feel free to contact me for a custom offer.
How should I send my document?
Please send your document in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx format) whenever possible. This is because I use 'Track Changes' so you can easily review every edit and decide which suggestions to accept.
Will my document remain confidential?
Absolutely! Your work will be treated as strictly confidential and will never be shared with third parties or used for any other purpose.
Can you edit longer manuscripts?
Yes! If your manuscript exceeds the word limit of my packages (there is an extra option for additional words as well), simply send me a message. I'll be happy to create a custom offer tailored to your project.
