Worked as a Sheet Metal Design Engineer supporting the development of industrial equipment, fabricated assemblies, machine components, and production-ready sheet metal products for manufacturing applications. Responsible for transforming design concepts into manufacturable solutions using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and engineering best practices. Designed brackets, motor mounts, sensor mounts, machine guards, electrical enclosures, control panels, support structures, and custom fabricated components while applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve production efficiency and reduce fabrication costs. Produced detailed 3D CAD models, flat patterns, manufacturing drawings, assembly documentation, bill of materials (BOM), and engineering specifications for fabrication and assembly teams. Collaborated with manufacturing engineers and fabricators to optimize bend allowances, bend deductions, hole placements, weld preparations, fastening methods, tolerances, and assembly processes. Participated in design reviews, prototype evaluations, structural assessments, and continuous product improvement initiatives to ensure designs met functional, quality, and manufacturing requirements. Supported projects from concept development through fabrication and production, delivering practical engineering solutions that balanced structural integrity, manufacturability, durability, and cost-effectiveness for industrial machinery, automation systems, and factory equipment.
