Do I need an AWS account to get started?
Yes, you'll need an active AWS account since all services (Lex, Lambda, Bedrock, etc.) will be deployed in your own cloud environment — so you own everything completely. If you don't have one, it's free to create and most services used in the Basic package fall within the AWS Free Tier.
Will the chatbot work on my website, app, or WhatsApp?
Yes. Amazon Lex natively supports deployment to Web (via a JavaScript SDK), Slack, Facebook Messenger, and Twilio SMS. WhatsApp and custom mobile apps can be integrated via API Gateway + Lambda. The Basic package includes 1 channel; Standard and Premium support multiple channels.
What AI models do you use inside Amazon Bedrock?
I work with all major foundation models available on Amazon Bedrock, including Anthropic Claude 3 (Haiku, Sonnet, Opus), Amazon Titan Text, Meta Llama 3, and Mistral. My recommendation is Claude 3 Sonnet for most use cases.
What is a RAG chatbot and do I need one?
RAG stands for Retrieval-Augmented Generation. Instead of relying purely on what the AI model was trained on, the bot retrieves relevant content from your own documents, PDFs, databases, or knowledge base first — then uses that to generate a grounded, accurate answer.
Can you work with my existing AWS infrastructure or Lex bot?
Absolutely. If you already have a Lex bot, Lambda functions, or other AWS services in place, I can extend, refactor, or upgrade them rather than building from scratch. In some cases this saves time and reduces cost. Please share details of your current setup when you message me before ordering.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance or a monthly retainer?
Yes. After delivery, you can purchase a monthly maintenance retainer as a Gig Extra or a separate order. This covers monitoring, bug fixes, intent improvements, model updates, and minor feature additions. Retainer pricing starts at $300/day depending on the complexity of your bot.
