Young Leaner ESL Specialist and Curriculum Designer

I have taught English to young learners in both small groups and larger class settings (1–8 students), adapting lessons to different learning styles, ages and language levels. I began teaching while completing my professional ESL qualification, gaining practical classroom experience alongside formal training. My work centres on early language development, literacy readiness, grammar foundations and confidence-building. I design structured, levelled resources that support clear assessment, inclusive learning and SEND awareness. Alongside ESL teaching, my background includes extensive hands-on experience in child development and education settings. During my university degree, I completed a specialist student education programme focused on teaching science, which included 12 weeks of training seminars followed by 4 weeks working in a Reception class. As part of my degree placement, I also spent one day per week for a full term in a special school, supporting learners with additional needs. I previously worked in a preschool setting with children aged 2½–4½, contributing to early years curriculum activities, and have volunteered in a local primary school supporting reading development. Combined with my honours degree in psychology, this gives me a strong understanding of how children learn, process language and build confidence. My approach blends structure with creativity, making learning engaging, supportive and developmentally appropriate.
