Independent Criminal Justice Researcher | Personal Post-Conviction Advocacy My experience in criminal justice research was developed through my own fight to overturn a wrongful conviction. After spending approximately nine years incarcerated, I continued challenging my conviction and working to identify important issues in the case. Through this process, I gained firsthand experience reviewing court records, examining legal filings, organizing case information, researching post-conviction proceedings, and following the procedural steps involved in challenging a criminal conviction. My journey required persistence, careful attention to detail, and the ability to examine complex information and identify questions requiring further investigation. My case is documented by the National Registry of Exonerations under the name Shateek Lanier. My convictions were vacated in 2021, and the prosecution dismissed the charges in December 2021. I created TFIO Justice Initiative to apply the knowledge and perspective I gained from this experience to research and writing projects focused on criminal justice and public information. I aim to help clients organize information, locate relevant public sources, prepare clear research summaries, and communicate information effectively. I approach every project with diligence, professionalism, respect for confidentiality, and a commitment to accuracy. My experience is grounded in firsthand involvement with the criminal justice system, independent research, and personal post-conviction advocacy. Services are limited to research, writing, proofreading, and document organization. I do not represent clients as an attorney or provide legal advice.
