A Power BI custom connector can benefit your company in several ways:
- Automating data flow. Our connectors enable scheduled refresh in Power BI Service through a data gateway. We would be able to set this up for you through Teamviewer if needed. This way you save time not having to refresh the reports manually.
- Replacing third-party connectors. Those come at a recurring fee. On the other hand, we just charge a fixed cost and no subscriptions.
- Eliminating manual errors. Every time you copy and paste data, you have risk of pasting it in a wrong way which leads to errors. Sometime you might not even notice those errors and use the wrong numbers to make decisions.
Our connector comes as a .mez file that needs to be saved in a special folder on your PC. Once this is done, you will be able to find the data source inside Power BI desktop.
Disclaimer:
Power BI connectors work best when API is well-structured and you don't have to send many API requests to get the data. If this is not the case, it is a better approach to use a database to automate data the flow. We have this capability in the team as well.

How do custom connectors work?
Custom connectors extract data from an API or an ODBC driver of your data source. In this case the data is extracted as directly from your source into a Power BI report. Data gateway needs to be used to automate refresh in the cloud. This way you are moving data API -> your PC -> Power BI Service.
Do you provide maintenance of your connectors?
We do provide maintenance for 1 month after finishing the job for free. However, with APIs, their structure tends to change sometimes. In this case we may need to adjust the code inside the connector.
What if my data connectors do you already have?
SEM Rush, Nutshell, TSheets, Xero, Yahoo Finance, Benzinga.
