Everyone has a story worth telling — it just needs to be told right. I spent years with veterans through the VA. One man came in furious, feeling unheard, until he shared what he'd faced in Vietnam. He asked, "If I can do that for strangers, why can't others do it for me?" That stayed with me. He came back every week after that just to visit.
I also come from a family touched by struggle, violence, addiction, hard years. I care about telling stories like his: real ones.
